There is a possibility to watch beavers near the house, especially in the bright summer nights. The 17 stage hiking trail Bergslagsleden passes close to the house. Close to a moose park. The house was built in the 19th century as a mission house in the center of Dammen. Koppaberg has a 17th century mining town center with interesting ruins in the adjacent forest. A local history museum is located in Stjärnfors, not far away.
