Twelve holiday apartments near the beach and the sea

This charming house with twelve holiday apartments is above the little harbour at Panorno with a beautiful view of the sea and the mountains.

There is a reception that serves the whole holiday apartment complex. The reception is attended in the mornings and afternoons, but a 24-hour service is also available. Children from 0-2 years old stay free of charge. The apartments are cleaned every three days, with a change of towels and bed linen.

The apartment interiors combine modern architecture with classical elements and harmonises with nature. All the apartments have a bedroom and a living room with a kitchen unit. There is a fold-out sofa in the living room for a further person. There are six holiday apartments with double beds and five holiday apartments with two single beds, on different floors. On the second floor there is an apartment with a double bed and a roof terrace.

The apartment complex is about 50 metres from a beach with loungers and parasols. In Panormo there are three supermarkets, a bakery, a butcher and various other shops where you can buy clothing, shoes, beach utensils, souvenirs, jewellery and local products. You can also find a doctor, a pharmacy and a post office.

Castello di Porto is a brand new independent apartment, located on the upper floor of a two storey building, on the picturesque old fishing port of the village and just a few steps from the village center.

It is a modern but very cozy apartment, 65 squ. meters large and consists of one spacious bedroom with a double bed and a big closet, a living room with a sofa bed that can be transformed into a semi-double bed, an open plan fully equipped kitchen with a stove and oven and a shower bathroom, where a washing machine is also provided. The bedroom is very quiet as it is located at the back side of the apartment and the living room has a balcony at the street side, overlooking the port, the sea and the hills. At the street just below the apartment, there are tavernas and coffee shops. The apartment can accommodate up to 3 persons. Furniture and fabrics are minimal and modern, with bright and cheerful colors.

Panormo is located on the national highway of Crete and belongs to the Prefecture of Rethymno. It is distanced 22km from Rethymno city and 60km from Heraklion city and airport.

Panormo has a port for small boats open to the east and protected from northern winds. There are also boat fuelling facilities.

The village has got 3 supermarkets, a bakery, a butcher’s and several stores to buy clothing, shoes, beach items, souvenirs, jewellery, as well as organic Cretan products and cosmetics made of olive and Cretan herbs. There is also a physician, a pharmacy and a post office.

Two car rental agencies, taxi services, a travel agency and many accommodation options (hotels, rooms to rent, apartments) operate during summer season – from mid-April to end of October.
In Panormo you will find restaurants with diverse menus, from original Cretan cuisine to a quick souvlaki, offering good quality in reasonable prices.

At the centre of the village stands probably the only large carob bean mill of Crete, which has been characterised as an industrial monument by the Greek Ministry of Culture. Today, the building is used for art exhibitions, cultural events, congresses and sports during the whole year.

    “Hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Empfehlen dieses Apartement weiter und würden selber auch wider gerne dorthin gehen. Positiv: -Sehr freundliche Gastgeber.
    -Kleiner aber sehr schöner Balkon.
    -Wohnung ist schön eingerichtet.
    -Müll wird jeden Tag von Personal entsorgt und Handtücher werden ebenfalls gewechselt.
    -Meer und kleine Tavernen gleich in der nähe.
    -Ruhiges Dörfchen Negativ: - Küche hatte etwas wenig Kochutensilien (fehlte beispielsweise: kleiner Topf, scharfes Messer, Sparschäler, wie auch Gewürze oder ein kleiner Besen) Restaurant: Taverna Agkira - Taverne mit gutem essen direkt am Hafen. Ausflüge: Triopetra - Strand im Süden der Insel.”
