Just a stone's throw from the child-friendly sandy beach lies this magnificent vacation home in an enclosed garden with scattered coniferous and deciduous trees. Helberskov is a recreational area that stretches wooded and naturally beautiful to the gentle waves of the Kattegatt. A little to the south lies the nice harbor Als Odde with an old Kro (inn). The nearest village is Øster Hurup (7 km), a nice fishing and vacation village with harbor, restaurants, tennis courts, miniature golf and a nice bathing area. In summer you can buy fresh fish directly at the cutters. The sport angler can expect good fishing spots, especially at the mouth of the Mariager Fjord. But there are also Put & Take lakes in the surrounding area. It is not far to the picturesque monastery and trading town of Mariager with its old, well-kept half-timbered houses in the cobblestone streets. And not to forget Danmarks Saltcenter, which tells the interesting history of salt and where you can take a healing bath in warm, salty water reminiscent of the Dead Sea (don't forget your bathing suit). If you want to explore nature from the seaside, the old paddle steamer 'Svanen' sails on the beautiful Mariager Fjord from Als Odde to Hadsund. Towards the north you can experience one of Denmark's strangest, unspoiled nature areas, Lille Vildmose. This high moor landscape is to become a national park, where the species-rich plant and animal life can develop undisturbed. For example, large herds of red deer and wild boar can be seen here and Denmark's two pairs of golden eagles breed here. The particularly sensitive areas are fenced off and can only be accessed on a guided tour or visited by guards. On the nearest coast there is a beach meadow. As the nearest sandy beach we can recommend the bathing beach at Øster Hurup.
