If you've ever wondered what it's like to live in grand style, then Villa Can Gat, with its spacious rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and fantastic views, is the place for you. Modern design elements merge with traditional Mallorcan building techniques; natural stone blends harmoniously with pastel-coloured stucco. In absolute peace and tranquillity, Can Gat overlooks the countryside from its throne on the hill and invites you to stroll among the palm and pine trees in the garden or take a dip in the pool at the front of the building. It is more or less triangular in shape and laid out in such a way that you almost feel as if you could swim out into the landscape. This is a place where you can stretch out and gaze into the distance and watch the sun from your shady spot. There's a favourite spot for everyone here (even for the car in the garage); for some it might be the little picnic table on the subtropical terrace behind the house. The large property offers a sociable atmosphere where you can meet up with friends and family to eat, celebrate or simply sit around telling jokes and stories late into the night. On balmy summer evenings, you can live entirely outdoors; just bring the dining table out to the covered veranda or poolside terrace and fire up the barbecue in the outdoor kitchen... Watching the sunset while the barbecue emits a delicious aroma, can you imagine a more beautiful holiday?
At the same time, the villa has several places to go if you just want to be alone for a while or need to spend some of your holiday time working. All in all, Can Gat is a fantastic place to recharge your batteries and give free rein to your creativity.

The property lets in plenty of natural light and other outdoor delights, and there is also an arcade of stone pillars with slender metal arches that encloses part of the outdoor area and can be illuminated in the evening. On the ground floor, floor-to-ceiling, fully opening windows cover the front of the building and offer breathtaking views across the valley to the bay of Palma. If you love camaraderie and cooking, then you will especially love the huge kitchen/dining area with two dining tables and a bar. Warm wood tones, sunny yellow walls, a huge gas hob with a powerful extractor bonnet and plenty of work and storage space make preparing and cooking meals here a real holiday experience. The seating and TV areas are kept simple and rustic. Three bedrooms (all with en-suite bathrooms, one with twin beds and one slightly larger with a desk, sofa and walk-in wardrobe) are also located on the ground floor, all with access to the terrace and beautiful views from the greenery outside. These rooms combine subtle pastel shades with colourful accents. You may have to draw lots to decide who gets to stay in the suite on the upper floor - the lucky winner will have their own large bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe, which ladies especially love. Hardwood floors and a natural stone wall create the perfect atmosphere for cosy living.

The surrounding area offers several excursion destinations that are well worth a visit. How about a ride on the Orange Express, the narrow-gauge railway that has connected Palma and Sóller for almost a hundred years? You can hop on when it stops in nearby Bunyola. This small town is also not to be missed: Surrounded by olive, almond, orange and lemon trees, there are several bars and cafés to visit, as well as a bakery and the popular health food shop Herbes i paraules ( Herbs and Words). Health-conscious travellers will find everything their heart desires here: fruit, vegetables, herbs and teas, nutrition workshops, massages and even an Arabic tea room. A little further north and through the famous tunnel, perhaps the most beautiful gardens in Mallorca await you: the Jardines de Alfabia, built in the classic Moorish style. Or you can drive to Orient, one of the most beautiful little villages on the island. Situated amidst the hills of the Serra de Tramuntana, it is practically an El Dorado for hikers in the area. And for gourmets, the restaurant in the Hotel L'Hermitage on the site of a former oil mill offers exquisite cuisine for true connoisseurs. We could go on and on about the sights that await you in this part of the island, but there are a few things you'll have to find out for yourself. Open to guests from May to October: The spacious, modern Villa Can Gat with panoramic pool and absolutely quiet rural hillside location is nevertheless easily accessible via a tarmac road. Situated almost exactly between Palma and Port Sóller, near the small town of Bunyola, Can Gat is an ideal base for relaxing by the sea, sightseeing in the city or hiking in the countryside and enjoying the varied landscape of the region.
